Comedian, Actor, Writer
A veteran actress, Mariann began dabbling in standup in 2008. She now plays in clubs coast-to-coast -- from Caroline's in NYC to the Hollywood Improv.
A Chicago native, she got her show biz start on the streets of New York... literally, as a writer-performer doing sketch comedy on a pull-down stage off the side of a truck with Off-Centre Theatre. She also toured with the improv groups, The Proposition and 3 Blacque Chix.
Mariann is known mostly, though, for her work in television -- including co-starring with comic legend, Redd Foxx, as his daughter, Elizabeth, on the CBS sitcom, The Royal Family. Check out the demo reel on her website & you'll probably recognize her from a bunch of other stuff as well, including: going toe-to-toe with Mo'Nique as her nemesis, Hannah Foster on The Parkers; cozying up to Sherman Hemsley as his stripper girlfriend, Lois Keller on Family Matters, and berating Meshach Taylor as his buppie-from-hell girlfriend, Lita Ford, on Designing Women.
She's guest-starred opposite Kirstie Alley, John Ritter and Brett Butler on their respective sitcoms and was heralded for her comedy chops as clueless mom, Julie Pinderhughes, in a New York Times review of the Kid 'n Play cult comedy film, Class Act.
Mariann is also a cancer survivor, a topic she doesn't shy away from in her material.
